As a kid, I was always fascinated by computers and technology. My journey started with 386 and 486 machines, and I'll never forget playing my first games on a Timex Sinclair Computer. The magic really happened when my uncle introduced me to QBasic. Together, we wrote code to find prime numbers, and every time we discovered one, we used the computer's beeper to create a sound using the prime number as the frequency value. That beeping melody of mathematical discovery was so fascinating that I knew I had to dive deeper into computer science.

As the years passed, I got into gaming culture - playing classics like The Settlers and hosting LAN sessions where we'd spend entire weekends immersed in games like Age of Empires. These weren't just games; they were my introduction to networking, multiplayer systems, and the social aspects of technology.

This passion naturally led me to pursue formal education as a software developer. During this time, I learned countless technologies and explored various aspects of computer science. One milestone I'm particularly proud of was building my first computer from scratch - carefully selecting each component and putting it all together myself. I remember being terrified of damaging the expensive GPU, but the satisfaction of that first successful boot was incredible.

After successfully completing my apprenticeship, I started my first job at Konplan GmbH. Initially, I worked on translation applications for medical devices, but soon evolved into developing comprehensive testing applications using C# WinForms and WPF. These server/client applications were crucial for ensuring device communication protocols worked properly according to specifications.

My role expanded to include FDA compliance testing, where I spent my time 50% developing and 50% testing medical devices. Over 12 years, I contributed to life-saving devices like the Accu-Chek Inform 2, CoaguChek XS, cobas b 101, and cobas h 232. Working on technology that directly impacts patient care worldwide was incredibly fulfilling and taught me the importance of precision and reliability in software.

Beyond the technical work, I became passionate about sharing knowledge and fostering growth in others. I regularly onboarded new employees, whether they were joining the test team or development team, guiding them through our complex medical device protocols and FDA compliance requirements. Mentoring became one of my favorite aspects of the role - watching junior developers grow from uncertainty to confidence, sharing the lessons I'd learned from years of debugging critical systems, and helping them understand that in medical device development, every line of code could potentially save lives. This experience taught me that knowledge multiplies when shared, and building strong teams is just as important as building robust software.

I then joined Q-DAS | Hexagon, where I developed an intelligent web application for automated tool correction on CNC machines. This solution revolutionized manufacturing processes by optimizing correction workflows, dramatically increasing efficiency and reducing production errors. It was incredibly rewarding to see technology make such a tangible impact on manufacturing quality and precision.

When Hexagon acquired Q-DAS, I was given an exciting new challenge in Azure cloud development. I built a comprehensive cloud-based platform with a React frontend and C# backend that centralized measurement data from various manufacturing processes in the Hexagon Nexus environment. This system enabled real-time data analysis and quality assurance that scaled with enterprise needs.

At Uniserv | Customer Data Experts, I work as a Software Engineer focused on customer data platforms and data quality solutions. Building on my background across medical devices, industrial automation, and cloud platforms, I contribute to scalable software solutions in the customer data domain.

Beyond the Code

From medical devices that save lives to customer data platforms that drive business success, my journey has shown me that great technology is about solving real problems for real people. When I'm not architecting data solutions or exploring new technologies, you'll find me traveling the world with my backpack, working alongside my loyal canine companion, strumming my ukulele, or strategizing in games - still that same kid who fell in love with the beeping sounds of prime numbers.
